Our Story

Florida Tennis Magazine began in 1992 in order to cover the vast array of players and tennis events in the state. Since its inception, the magazine has become the most popular among tennis lovers in Florida and has acheived international notoriety in the tennis community.
Florida Tennis is a recipient of the USTA National Media Excellence Award, as well as various in-state and national awards. Within each bi-monthly publication, Florida Tennis aims to give playing, sport science, fitness, and equipment tips to its followers. In addition to this, Florida Tennis keeps its readers up to date with the latest industry news.

Dave " Koz" Kozlowski - Inside Tenis With the Koz & Contributing Writer



Background:

Jim Martz, the dean of tennis wriers in Florida, launched Florida Tennis in 1992. He has served as vice president of the U.S. Tennis Writers Association. Before starting Florida Tennis he was the Miami Herald's tennis writer for 18 years and contributed to several national and international publications. He edited the book "50 Love, Advantage Florida", which chronicles the first 50 years of USTA Florida. He co-authored famed tennis coach Rick Macci's book "Macci Magic: Extracting the Best from Yourself and Others" and he authored "Safe Tennis: How to Train and Play to Avoid Injury and Stay Healthy". He also has written four books on University of Miami football and one on University of Miami baseball. In 1991 he was inducted into the Miami-Dade County Tennis Hall of Fame.

Background:

Cameron Mofid has competed on the ITF Junior Tour. At age 17, Cameron founded Legends United, one of the largest player-driven philanthropic initiatives in tennis, in partnership with the Nick Kyrgios Foundation. Through this platform, players donate and sign their used equipment to be auctioned off for charity. Cameron now travels the world on behalf of his foundation to the various ITF, WTA and ATP events. His experiences in tennis and technology have led him to an innovation & marketing role at Florida Tennis. Cameron has also become a contributing writer on his time spent at the professional tour events.

Background:

Adam Ross is a graduate of the University of Miami School of Law. He is an attorney and mediator and when he is not in court he can be found on the court, watching and playing tennis. Adam possesses an extensive tennis autograph and memorabilia collection which forms the basis of his column, Autograph Corner. He is also a volunteer for the USTA Florida and the Vice-President of the TCA/Tennis Collectors of America.
Background:

Art Seitz has had Photos of the Year in Sports Illustrated, Life, and People magazines. He has covered Roland Garros for 50 years, Wimbledon and the US Open for 49 years, the Australian Open for 1 year, every Delray Beach Open, and every Miami Open. He has been a staff photographer for Florida Tennis and numerous other magazines while also distributing to more than two dozen countries for more than 20 years. Art has photographed over 30 champions at their homes. His tennis photo collection is known as one of the most valuable and unique in the world.

Background:

Nick Bollettieri has been considered one of the greatest coaches in tennis history for quite some time now. Following his early success, he opened up the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy, where he has coached the likes of Monica Seles, Jim Courier, and Maria Sharapova. In 2014, Bollettieri was inducted to the International Tennis Hall of Fame, one of the greatest honors in sport.

Background:

Gary Ferman has been the Managing Editor of Florida Tennis since its inception. He also has been the longtime Publisher of CaneSport and CaneSport.com and is a former sportswriter for The Miami Herald and The National Sports Daily.



Background:

Nancy Morgan has been a freelance writer since 1983, including a Tampa Bay area newspaper 1983-2008, USTA Florida Section e-newsletter, The Tennis News monthly online Tampa Bay area newsletter 2009-2016, and Florida Tennis since 2006. She was a tennis instructor 19 years, PTR certified. She is a lifetime USTA member and USTA Florida volunteer since 1983, served as its president 2001-2002 and was inducted into its Hall of Fame in 2006. She has received several state awards and the national Community Service Award (1995), and she has been involved at the USTA national level 1994-2008; Youth Tennis Foundation board member 2006-2016; president of Suncoast Tennis Foundation four two-year terms.

Background:

Dave “Koz” Kozlowski, one of the first seventeen Master USPTA professionals in the world. Koz, the 2001 USPTA national Pro of the Year and the 1999 USTA Broadcaster of the Year, was one of seven American journalists selected by the USTA to cover the 2003 Federation Cup in Moscow. He is the executive producer/host of “Inside Tennis with the “Koz” which aired eight years on Sunshine Network (Fox Sports affiliate), six years on Tennis Channel as one of its “Original Series” and now airing on SNN.
